Hey...It’s Samantha!! You can now rock with me every weekend, Saturday afternoons from 3pm to 7pm and Sunday mornings from 10am to 2pm.
Well let’s start at the beginning…I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and at about 6 months old, my mother asked for a divorce and moved to the U.S. to start a life of her own in Miami, Florida, where she met the amazing man who’s my father today! In 1995, we moved to Rohnert Park. (Side note: When you come from a city like Miami, a place like Rohnert Park seems like the most redneck, hay-baling, howdy-ho neighbor-like town. Prepare for stomach aches for 3 months.) After getting over my initial shock, everything turned up. Over time, I fell in love with California and if you ask me today, there’s nowhere I’d rather live!
Before getting into radio, I did tons of volunteer work for the American Red Cross, worked as a “Courtesy Clerk” at Safeway (a.k.a. “Slaveway”), held a position at my mom’s work doing all sorts of clerical work, and last but not least, served as a hostess and server for a local Italian restaurant. While at Sonoma State University working on a Bachelor of Arts in International Communication Studies, I chose radio as an elective and have been in love ever since! I jocked on KSUN, Sonoma State’s student radio station for almost 2 years and did my internship here at The Fox in 2002. I was eventually hired and worked as “Sales Assistant” for a year after that. In August 2003, I moved to Sweden for an international study program to finish my Bachelors. After returning to the States in July 2004, I returned to radio, working in sales for two years before realizing that my passion was being on the air! So in November of 2005, I ditched sales to come back to The Fox as an “On-Air Personality”! I’ve been here ever since and loving every freakin' second of it! For over the last four years, I hosted the midday show from 10am to 3pm but recently passed the reins on to Miss
Katie Gray. I'm still in the area, doing something else I love, so you can listen to me all weekend long!!
In my spare time, I rock out much anywhere, sleep in when I can, read a murder-mystery, take pictures, go wine-tasting, drink beer while watching a good football game, spend time with my family and friends, cook, clean (yes, oddly enough, it relieves stress), head to the lake and/or the beach, jam to a mean game of Rock Band and of course, go to any and every show I can!! Music is my life :)
Thanks so much for all your support, not only for me, but for the best rock station north of the Golden Gate...101.7 THE FOX!
